Practical knowledge & advice: How to choose the right filter for diesel engines

Which filter is the right one? The decisive factors are your media (diesel, heating oil, biodiesel), the delivery rate of your pump and the desired scope of protection (particles only, also water separation). When refuelling vehicles or machines via a petrol station or IBC, you should always use a water separator with a sight glass and non-return valve. This will reliably prevent contamination and corrosion.

When do I need to change the filter? A drop in pressure in the pipe or reduced flow rate are indications that the filter cartridge is full.

Can I retrofit filters? Yes ! M+B Fluid filter systems are designed for direct connection, retrofitting and integration. This means you can quickly and permanently upgrade existing pump systems to protect them against dirt particles and water, from tradespeople to industrial use.
